RTL ("the Extension") is a browser extension that modifies the visual text direction of web pages to correctly display Hebrew, Arabic, and other right-to-left scripts on a fixed list of AI chat web applications.

1. Data we collect and transmit

The Extension collects no personal data, no browsing history, no page content, no IP address, no device identifiers, no email addresses, no cookies, and no analytics or telemetry.

The only data ever transmitted by the Extension is your license key, sent over HTTPS at the moment you activate your license. The request goes to the license-validation endpoint of our payment processor and merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, and is used solely to verify that the key is valid and not already bound to another device. After activation, no further network requests are made.

We do not collect, store on a server, or otherwise process your name, email address, payment details, or IP address. Those are handled by Lemon Squeezy under their own privacy policy when you complete the purchase on their checkout page.

2. Local storage

The Extension stores a small number of values in chrome.storage.local so that your settings persist across page reloads:

  • rtlMode — your last selected mode (auto / force-rtl / force-ltr / off).
  • The license key and a hashed device fingerprint, after a successful activation, so the Extension can recognise that this device has a valid license without needing to call the validation endpoint again on every page load.

These values never leave your device after activation. No other data is stored.

3. How the Extension processes page content

When enabled on a supported page, the Extension reads the text content of the current page only to detect the presence of RTL characters and to apply the HTML dir attribute and CSS direction / text-align rules to the relevant elements. This processing happens entirely inside your browser and is discarded immediately — page content is never stored, logged, or transmitted.

4. Permissions

  • activeTab — used when you press the keyboard shortcut (Alt+R / Alt+Shift+R / Alt+Shift+L) or click the toolbar icon, to inject the Extension's script into the current tab.
  • scripting — required by Chrome Manifest V3 to inject the Extension's bundled script via chrome.scripting.executeScript. No remote or dynamic code is executed.
  • storage — required to persist the values described in section 2.

Host permissions (sites where the Extension runs automatically on page load):

  • https://claude.ai/*, https://*.claude.ai/*
  • https://chatgpt.com/*, https://chat.openai.com/*
  • https://gemini.google.com/*
  • https://www.perplexity.ai/*, https://perplexity.ai/*
  • https://chat.deepseek.com/*
  • https://grok.com/*, https://*.grok.com/*

In addition, the Extension communicates with https://api.lemonsqueezy.com/* at license-activation time only, for the validation request described in section 1.

On any other site, the Extension runs only when you explicitly invoke it (via activeTab).

5. Third parties, sharing, sale of data

Other than the single license-validation request to Lemon Squeezy described above, the Extension uses no analytics platforms, no SDKs, no advertising networks, and no external APIs. We do not share, sell, transfer, or rent user data for any other purpose. Lemon Squeezy's handling of your purchase data and license key is governed by their own privacy policy: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.

6. Children

The Extension does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 16. The Extension is not directed at children but is safe for them to use.

7. Security

The license-validation request at activation uses HTTPS. After activation no further data is transmitted by the Extension. The Extension's source is bundled inside the signed package distributed by the Chrome Web Store and is subject to its integrity checks.

8. Your rights

Because the Extension itself does not store personal data on any server we operate, there is nothing on our side to access, correct, port, or delete. You may at any time uninstall the Extension from chrome://extensions, which clears the local rtlMode, license key, and device fingerprint stored locally. Rights regarding the purchase data held by Lemon Squeezy may be exercised through them directly.

9. Compliance

This policy is designed to comply with:

  • Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies — including the User Data Policy, Limited Use, and Single Purpose policies.
  • Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981 and the Privacy Protection (Information Security) Regulations, 5777-2017. We do not maintain a database of personal data within the meaning of the law.
  • EU GDPR (Regulation 2016/679) — the only personal data processed by us is the license key transmitted to our payment processor; the legal basis is performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
  • California CCPA / CPRA — no personal information is sold or shared.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will be updated. Continued use of the Extension after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
