This statement is provided in compliance with the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013 and the Israeli Standard SI 5568, based on the WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines.

Nature of the service

RTL is a browser extension whose purpose is to improve accessibility for readers and writers of right-to-left scripts (Hebrew, Arabic, and others) on AI chat platforms. It corrects text direction on pages where it is rendered incorrectly and helps readers — including people with reading-related disabilities such as dyslexia — read Hebrew/Arabic text correctly and consistently.

Environments where the extension operates

  • Claude.ai · ChatGPT · Google Gemini · Copilot · Perplexity · DeepSeek · Grok

The accessibility of those sites themselves is the responsibility of their operators, not ours.

The extension's own interface

The interface is intentionally minimal:

  • Toolbar icon — clicking it activates/deactivates the extension on the current tab.
  • Badge label on the icon — shows the state: ON, RTL, LTR, or empty (off).
  • Keyboard shortcuts:
    • Alt+R (Windows/Linux) or MacCtrl+R (macOS) — toggle on/off
    • Alt+Shift+R or MacCtrl+Shift+R — force RTL
    • Alt+Shift+L or MacCtrl+Shift+L — force LTR

Accessibility properties:

  • Full keyboard operation — every function is available without a mouse, via keyboard shortcuts.
  • Screen-reader support — the toolbar icon exposes a readable title, and the state badge has a textual value that is fully announced.
  • Color contrast — icon and badge colors meet a contrast ratio of 4.5:1 or higher.
  • No flashing animations and no auto-updating content that could cause photosensitive reactions.
  • Font size and zoom — the extension affects web pages, not the browser's own UI, and does not interfere with Chrome's built-in zoom and accessibility features.

Additional accessibility accommodations

  • The extension can be enabled and disabled at any time as needed.
  • All actions are fully reversible: pressing the shortcut or clicking the icon again restores the page to its original state.
  • The extension does not interfere with elements that are inherently LTR (code, math formulas in KaTeX/MathJax/LaTeX) — preserving readability for users who rely on visual precision.

Areas not fully accessible

  • Some of the sites the extension operates on are not under our control and may not themselves meet all accessibility requirements. The extension's effect on them is positive but does not transform a non-accessible site into a fully accessible one.
  • The Chrome Web Store interface itself (where the extension is installed) belongs to Google.
